IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PLEASE READ

Image files explained. 

The size and resolution of your images for PRINT is important and different from screen sizes. ONLY 300dpi is usable for our purposes and to ensure your work looks its best in print form.

Please note:

Image size + resolution = file size. 

File size and image size are not the same thing.  

Image size refers to the size of your image in measurements - think photo sizes 6 X 4 inches etc and can be expressed in cm, mm and px. But lets stick to inches we need 2x2inches.

Dpi is a terminology hangover from old school printing and refers to dots per square inch. As we are printing your images this is relevant and we need a high resolution. 72 and 96 dpi are good for screen but terrible for print. Anything sent in at 72 or 96 is a low resolution is not usable and very difficult to resize with a good outcome. In order to resize the programme to do so is trying to fill in gaps with a small amount of information particularly if this is combined with a large image size.

This is the area we need the most help from you - if this is done correctly at the upload stage, the workload reduces by about 80%. POSE with City Arts is currently organised by City Arts Portsmouth Team on a voluntary basis, with a little help from our friends and families.

The information gathered is used to add your images and information in the POSE 2024 Guide and the POSE pages of the City Arts Website. Images supplied will be distributed digitally as part of marketing for the event. Please make sure it is accurate as changes made after submission will incur a cost of £15 admin fee.

We advise to ALWAYS USE A COPY OF YOUR ORIGINAL FILE IMAGE WHEN UPLOADING WORK

TIP: Have the image files saved at the correct Image size (4x4 inches) and resolution (300dpi) and ready, with the filename added as described below, BEFORE you begin to fill this form in.

• Each Image FILENAME MUST BE LABELLED with the following with YOUR NAME & SURNAME & THE TITLE e.g. MarySmithPsychedelicDust.

• Max file size of 2MB at 300dpi As This will be used for screen and print. 

                     The size which will work perfectly is 2 x 2 inches at 300dpi, Supported file types are JPG or PNG

• Click here for help and advice on how to resize here. Although you may prefer to ask a friend. 

• The format of the image in the brochure will be SQUARE, please think about this as cropping may occur.

• The File Name will Appear under this box once uploaded, you will only see the filename not the image.

GROUPS Must have been organised before completing this form and each group member should have their own public liabilty insurance as stated in the terms and conditions.
