I’m Hitesh Ambasna, a photographer and artist working across abstraction and lens-based media. My latest series of mixed media works on plywood and paper explores tension, texture, and process. Using acrylic paint, chinagraph pencil, and correction fluid, I build layered compositions that combine gestural mark-making with structured interruption. The grain of plywood offers a resistant, tactile ground, while paper allows for looser, more fluid interactions. Correction fluid becomes a tool of both erasure and emphasis—concealing and revealing in equal measure.
These works evolve, through instinctive adjustments. I’m drawn to the moment when clarity and chaos coexist on the surface—when a line interrupts a shape, or when a smear invites a response. The pieces are as much about what’s removed as what’s left behind.
Alongside these, my photographic practice continues to examine constructed realities and material image-making. Together, these strands reflect my ongoing interest in surface, balance, and creative disruption.
