On Saturday, 7 September 2024, from 10 am to 4 pm, Victoria Park in Portsmouth hosted "Let’s Get Talking About Suicide Awareness Day" , a festival celebrating the beauty of life while promoting mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
The event brought the community together with free live music, well-being activities, and creative workshops, creating a space to connect with support services and discover hope. A highlight was the Hampshire ‘Speak Their Name Quilt,’ showcased in the new Green House community building before embarking on its tour.
The day also featured our "Habitat Harbours Co Create" workshop, where visitors contributed to a collaborative art project, making marine-inspired elements to be placed in a marine habitat by our friends on the Isle of Wight -"Artecology". This habitat will be placed in the Solent, encouraging new life to attach itself to the work created during the workshop, combining creativity and community, with a positive environmental impact.
