With a background in photography, and later as a senior academic in photography. Hitesh Ambasna’s recent practice, spans a range of visual disciplines and media, including, photography, printmaking and most recently painting.

The freedom to create work free from commercial constraints, focuses on visual enquiry that is driven by a desire to create new dialogues. These works here have evolved from decades of study and teaching and have emerged slowly through instinctive adjustment and constant research. The work is about editing, about what is removed as much as what remains.

“I am drawn to the moment when clarity and chaos co-exists on the surface at the same time. They are most often journeys of failure, discovery, error, and serendipity and sometimes joy, hopefully they open new questions of what and how we see ourselves and the world around us”.
