I work mainly with copper to create sculptural pieces that respond to nature and the passage of time. I’m particularly drawn to flame painting—a process that brings out an extraordinary range of colours from deep browns to vivid oranges, and eventually to verdigris as the copper continues to evolve. My work is about transformation, both in material and meaning. I often take inspiration from organic forms—plants, animals, weathered surfaces—and I aim to create pieces that feel rooted and reflective. Texture matters to me. I want people to feel invited to get close, to notice subtle shifts and layers. I work sustainably where I can, valuing the long life and constant change copper offers. Being in the forge is where I feel most at home, working with heat, tools, and instinct. Each piece is a quiet record of process, presence, and connection to the natural world.
