NEIL IS NO LONGER SHOWING DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES. I am hugely inspired and enthusiastic about my first forays into larger scale garden sculptures. These range up to 2m in height. For me, these combine flow and form, and the lovely quality of raw ceramic surface as a material, in an artistic endeavour that blends with the natural environment whilst having an architectural connection - echoing other hard surfaces and forms in the garden.
Alternately I have a range of finely turned or hand carved ceramic discs, sometimes matt, sometimes glossy or glazed, which sit wonderfully framed as wall art. What is key is the surface finish and the form, for example finely turned rings with a matt black finish, which create patterns of shade and light that change as illumination alters (e.g. the moving daytime sun). These compliment unique handmade domestic ware and vases, often fired with traditional Japanese reduction glazes.
