Our memories are scattered and frayed at the edges. They are at the mercy of our emotions and desires, carrying the complexity and weight of our own narratives.
My exploration of memory is fractured and fragile, revealing only glimpses and a past eroded by time and emotion.
This journey began as I experienced a reminiscence bump: a sudden, vivid return of childhood and adolescent memories. I became curious about the truth, the reliability, and the fragmentation of my own recollections. With each piece I make, I try to capture a fragment, a fleeting sensation or feeling tied to memory. Through my treatment of metal, I explore and express the fragility, decay, and preciousness of these moments.
My vessels, landscapes, and sculptures waver between control and chaos. In both process and final form, they reflect how memory itself can be simultaneously held and lost, captured and destroyed.
