'Powerful, evocative, vulnerably human. Each work becomes a labour of love, taking on a life of its own'.

My works are visceral, tactile, imbued with a sense of human discord. Emerging forms, abstract and figurative, of wings, roots, human presence; feel familiar yet strange.Often cocooned in isolation, confronting the viewer, they inhabit a space between safety and flight. There's a guttural dialogue amidst the works, meanings hidden in layers, left for the viewers interpretation. The handling of mediums has a raw physicality, both wrestling and delicate. Paintings, sculptures, go through constant working, reworking; scraped back, built up ; their viscosity like the 'sticky blood of a wound'.

I am passionate about the mediums i create with, and the subject matter. Human, non human, the natural world: Expressions of the brutal and the restorative.
